Duke Stone of Cornwall design, supply and install premium bespoke stone surfaces including quartz worktops, granite, marble, porcelain and sintered stone for kitchens, bathrooms and luxury interiors across Cornwall. Working with homeowners, developers and designers in Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Wadebridge, Padstow, Rock, St Austell and surrounding areas, we combine expert craftsmanship with contemporary coastal inspired design.
The Nancledra kitchen places one broad white stone surface at the centre of a tall, light-filled room. Working with Meadows Kitchens, Duke Stone templated, fabricated and installed the island and perimeter worktops, including the openings for the island hob and compact black sink.
The simplicity of the surface is deliberate. Its uninterrupted white field creates a crisp horizontal plane against pale timber cabinetry and the concrete-toned floor, while the black fittings give the main working points clear definition.

The island surface has to accommodate two very different fittings without losing its visual simplicity. The black induction hob sits flush within one end, while the compact sink and tap occupy the opposite end. Accurate templating establishes the position and size of both openings before the slab is fabricated.
Keeping a generous section of uninterrupted stone between the two zones preserves useful preparation space. It also allows the white surface to remain the dominant feature when the kitchen is viewed from the surrounding open-plan room.

A matching perimeter worktop runs between the tall oak cabinets at the back of the room. Black taps and appliances repeat the island’s contrast, while the shared white finish connects the separate preparation and washing areas.
The cabinetry, balustrade and open shelf introduce strong vertical timber lines. Against them, the slim stone edges provide a quieter horizontal element. Careful measurement at the cabinet ends and wall junctions keeps these lines consistent across the finished kitchen.

Nancledra demonstrates how a restrained stone choice can support a detailed architectural interior. The island remains visually calm despite holding both cooking and washing functions, and the matching perimeter worktop maintains continuity across the room.
Duke Stone can template and fabricate island surfaces with accurately positioned sink, tap and hob details for kitchens across Cornwall.

Yes, subject to the agreed design, material and appliance specifications. Their positions are recorded during templating so the required openings can be fabricated accurately.
Working from the final cabinet positions provides the dimensions needed for accurate edges, cut-outs and junctions before installation.
